We are happy to endorse Erin Mueller for the Wayland School Committee.
She has been very involved in the Wayland school district (PTO, WPSF, etc.) and has shown that her character, integrity, and willingness to work with others will be critical assets in guiding the future of the Wayland education system.
The community needs someone who has experience and knowledge of the Wayland school system while bringing new ideas and solutions to the table. Erin truly believes in supporting students, their families AND the teachers and administrators. Given all the recent changes, we're confident that Erin can help improve communication and support amongst the different groups and assist in creating better relationships to achieve Wayland's educational goals.
On a personal level, when my youngest son started the process of being evaluated for learning disabilities, many of my friends and people I trust suggested that I reach out to Erin. All of them praised her for the compassionate and knowledgeable person that she is. She not only listened to me, but supported me in the way that I needed. She was able to empathize with all sides involved and understood the processes and systems in place to guide us in the right direction.
Ultimately, Erin has the best interest of the students in mind. She recognizes that to support students you absolutely need to support parents, teachers and administrators as well. She has our full support, and we believe she will be an excellent addition to the school committee as she deeply cares for our entire community.
I endorse Erin Mueller for the Wayland School Committee.
Erin has shown incredible commitment to our children and to understanding the way our school system operates through her leadership in the PTO and Wayland Public School Foundation.
I previously worked for US Secretary of Education Richard Riley and Deputy Secretary Jim Shelton and also led the 2017 Wayland Superintendent Search.
Erin embodies the qualities of strong education leaders with whom I have worked around the world.
I first met Erin eight years ago at Happy Hollow. I was always drawn to her kind demeanor, sense of humor and willingness to get involved.
We now both volunteer at the Wayland Public Schools Foundation. Through this experience, I have seen her careful approach to analyzing situations, her open-mindedness, and her ability to see and understand all sides. Above all, I have seen how much she cares about our public schools, our children's education, and their future.
When I recently spoke with Erin about her running for school committee she said --"If not me, then who." To answer that question, I see no one better suited to take on the school committee board seat than Erin.
I would like to endorse Erin Mueller for the position of School Committee member.
I have known Erin for 7 years. Erin has been an advocate for Wayland schools for over a decade. She has children in Claypit and Wayland Middle school. Erin has been an active member of Wayland PTO for the last 7 years, volunteering in enrichment initiatives and opportunities that support our students, teachers and schools.
I had the pleasure of working directly with Erin in the Wayland Public School Foundation (WPSF) for 4 years. As WPSF board member, she led and participated multiple projects to fundraise for grants. Those grants from teachers and administrators support and enhance education for all Wayland schools.
Erin was the Happy Hollow WPSF liaison for 4 years working directly with teachers and principals at the grass root level on how to prepare prospective grants to enhance our school system town wide. She supports Wayland sports as an active parent in her children's sports teams, brining popsicles/oranges and organizing end of season get togethers. In her spare time, she works in sales/marketing.
I can’t think of a better qualified candidate to provide oversight of Wayland school budget, curriculum and staffing.
Erin and I worked closely in Medical Software Consulting for a number of years, and can attest to a number of qualities that I believe make Erin an exceptional candidate for Wayland’s school committee: Collaboration, Drive, Enthusiasm, Family Values, Fairness, Honesty, and the ability to successfully negotiate towards successful outcomes for all parties.
As I have witnessed firsthand Erin consistently exhibit all of these qualities in the business world, there is no doubt she would bring her exceptional skill set to the Wayland School Committee.
Although I am not a resident of Wayland, both my parents were educators and I was raised in an environment where the importance of the public education system was a constant topic in our household.
I cannot think of a better candidate than Erin to represent the needs of the community, educators, parents, and most importantly, the school children, of Wayland.
Having known Erin for 15 years, she brings an unrivaled passion for Wayland and our community's families. While our sons and her children attended Happy Hollow, she acted as both an advocate for, and a partner to, parents, faculty, and students.
With the unique perspective of having kids spread across different grades, she worked tirelessly to make Happy Hollow a positive and nurturing environment for both current and newly enrolled students, and continued that approach as her children matriculated to their next phase of education.
Erin fostered school spirit with Happy Hollow Spirit Wear and demonstrated leadership in areas such as principal and superintendent searches, as well as compassion and empathy in one-on-one conversations about education and students' special needs.
We believe she will bring an unmatched dedication to the position, and we wholeheartedly endorse Erin for Wayland School Committee.
Erin is a compassionate and intelligent woman, willing to listen to all sides of an issue.
Her tireless involvement in the community, through Wayland Public Schools Foundation and endless involvement in parent lead events at all of our schools shows that she is a candidate of service and integrity, who truly wants the best for Wayland.
This spring, we hope you will join us in our enthusiastic support for Erin Mueller for the School Committee; a challenging position that is perfectly suited for Erin based on her experience, temperament and ability to collaborate with the many voices and perspectives who all want a thriving school system.
We have known Erin for nearly 10 years. We have seen firsthand how she selflessly volunteers her time for all of the schools, all of the grades, and all of the students.
She will be a perfect voice for the parents as she sees the big picture in all the School Committee does, and her calmness, problem-solving skills and genuineness will serve our students, teachers, parents and the entire Wayland community well.
It’s Erin's nature to treat people with respect and, through the years, she has earned the trust of many in our community. She has proven that she can, and will, serve this community in a way that values and considers all the stakeholders.
